That vision has since blossomed, making us a trusted healthcare partner for families in Mercedes, Weslaco, and surrounding communities. At the heart of our success is our team of dedicated professionals. With a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for helping others, we understand that your journey is unique. Our Legacy of Care
Our story began in 2001 with a deep passion for helping others. Founded by two dedicated therapists, William Holmes and Enedelia Mendieta, Quality Therapy Rehab Center (then known as QTP Inc.) was established as a single outpatient therapy facility. Driven by a shared vision to expand access to high-quality care, they established QTP II, a Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF), in 2004.
This commitment to excellence reached a new milestone in 2014 when QTP II became the first CORF in the nation to earn accreditation from the National Outpatient Rehab Facility Accreditation (NORFA). This achievement remains a testament to our unwavering dedication to upholding the highest national standards of quality and safety.
As co-founders, William and Enedelia built a legacy that continues to guide our mission. A licensed Physical Therapist, William passed away, but his spirit and commitment live on in the care we provide. A licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, Enedelia continues to influence our work as she trained and molded many of the clinicians still with Quality Therapy today. In 2019, she passed the torch to their trusted Clinical Director, Michael Hernandez.
Michael now leads our team with over 24 years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities. An Occupational Therapist with a background in Special Education, Michael is dedicated to carrying forward the founders' vision of delivering compassionate, innovative care to every patient we serve.
